OK, so I have an overlocker. Now what?

Lovely hubbie Carl bought me an overlocker for my birthday.

It sat in the box until this evening because, well, I didn't really know what to do with it. I bought a book but it was all a bit bewildering. So for my first project.....

I made a scarf with some quilting cotton and a piece of fleece. Not bad, eh? I also made the flower from a design in a book I got for my birthday.

Finally, my friend had a baby girl recently so I made her a little pushchair blanket as a gift. I'm quite pleased with it!

  1. OMG OMG ! That's really great, but I too would be thinking, now what?? Although you look as if you are getting the hang of it!

  2. Oooh! Well done! I got one the other day and have taken it out of the box but not read the instructions or tried it yet!

  3. Thanks guys for your comments - Mimi I only serged around the edge. I am still scared! I have a book I got from amazon....

The scarf is for this week's pink challenge on sewweekly, as it isn't in my FESA colours!

  4. Great job.. I loved your scarf and corsage flower. Looks like your doing a good job with yours.
I really dont use my serger much, for anything ,other than finishing seams.. So, I really never learned ,just what it could do,ha.
enjoy.. and proud you got it.. Nice hubby.

  5. If my sewing Maw doesn't know what a serger can do I have no hope! I think it looks nice on my sewing table though ;0)
