And I was very confused that it wasn't working because it did work (after a fashion) when I was given it, via a relative. Then I realised that that was in about 1985 and I haven't used it since... It has been in attics and our garage at Heart's Cottage for about 25 years altogether.

Thank you for visiting my blog, Charlotte! Those machines (my grandma had an old Singer) are workhorses. I hope your husband managed to fix it; even though, I must say, I always try to fix my tools myself :-) I just believe women have finer motoric skills and better logic. But maybe it's just a cliché...
